At Casa San Miguelito, we understand personally that a dog is more than a pet – it is an important member of the family! This is why we encourage our guests to bring their dogs and we welcome them with many pampered pet amenities. Upon arrival, your pet will have its own fresh bowl of filtered water and special treats to make their stay at CSM a yummy one – because "Fido" and "Bella" deserve a little spoiling!
Another bonus is that Avila Beach is off-leash before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m. daily, plus, most shops and restaurants are dog-friendly! Want more off leash time? Just down the road, you'll find "Dog Beach" (nicknamed by the locals; officially it is "Fisherman’s Beach"), which is adjacent to the Olde Port Beach — the smallest of the beaches in Avila & Port San Luis Harbor District.
No matter what time of day it is, you will typically see dogs running free into the surf or sun bathing with their owners at Dog Beach. There are parking spots along the road and just up from the beach is the Port San Luis Boatyard that features our newest convenient market The Mermaid Market, Avila Beach Paddlesports, and much more. On the Historic Harford Pier (also called the Port San Luis Pier) is Mersea's (best view of Avila Beach and plenty of outdoor seating) and the Olde Port Fish and Seafood Market. You can drive on the pier and there are even a few public parking spaces available (for free!) ... So come on, BRING FIDO & BELLA!
